Some days call for a warm kitchen, a good spoon, and chocolate-smeared fingers. These one bowl brownies take me back to simpler times—licking the bowl while they baked and sharing corners with loved ones. Fudgy, rich, and incredibly easy… this recipe is a keeper. Just one bowl, one spoon, and lots of joy.
1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder
Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment.
Mix: In a large bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
Add dry ingredients: Stir in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
Bake: Pour into pan and spread evenly. Bake 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
Cool and enjoy: Let cool before slicing—if you can wait that long!
